Rein Rutnik is an acoustic blues and roots musician from Kitchener, Ontario. He specializes in early American Blues, Jazz, Swing and Ragtime.
Heavily influenced by blues legends like Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, Mississippi John Hurt and modern masters like Leon Redbone and Taj Mahal.
His soaring harmonica is backed up by a steady rhythm on guitar and laid back vocals. His passion for music is shared in his live shows and teaching sessions.
Rein has travelled to Texas, Mississippi and Missouri in his pursuit of learning every aspect of playing harmonica.
He has studied with renowned harmonica players, such as, Joe Filisko, Peter Madcat Ruth, Grant Dermody, Jimi Lee and Carlos Del Junco.
Over the years he has performed with many different blues/roots ensembles at festivals, theatre's, cafe's and house concert's.
His harmonica chops have led him to receive invitations to play on various albums.
